Grab & Go service is available at all Newark Public Library locations. The Library hours for Grab & Go service are 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM Monday through Friday.

Returns

You can return library materials in the bins located at the entrance to each location between the hours of 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM.  Face masks and social distancing of at least 6 feet are required.

The following items cannot be accepted:

  • Books from other libraries outside Newark
  • Donations
  • REBL materials

Grab & Go Pickup

Newark Public Library card holders will be able to borrow items after requesting or reserving them (maximum 10 items). Items currently on the shelves will be available.


Need a card?  If you do not currently have a library card and you live, work, or go to school in Newark, you can get a three-month card here

 

Step One:  You can request items in one of three different ways:

  • Place a hold using the online Library Catalog  with your Newark Public Library card.

– or –

  • Email the branch to request items. Please provide your name, library card number, and contact information.

– or –

  • Telephone the location nearest you to request items.   Please have your library card handy.

Step Two Library staff will assemble your order.  Wait to be notified that your requests are ready for pickup.  Items will already be checked out to you before you pick up your order.  When you receive the message that your items are ready, please telephone the library to arrange a pickup time.  At that time the library staff will tell you where to pick up your order.

 

Step Three:  Pick up your order. Please remember that the library building is not open to the public at this time. Wear a mask and continue to practice social distancing. Do not come to collect items if you are feeling unwell or are having respiratory symptoms.

 

When you are finished with the items, please return them between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm. We know you have a lot on your mind right now, but don’t worry, we don’t charge late fees and you can renew online or by phone!

 

REMOTE PRINTING IS AVAILABLE

The library offers remote printing when possible.  A maximum of 10 pages can be printed and there is no charge at this time.

  • You must be able to email the document to the library.
