Immigrant Rights: DACA and ICE Stops
Wednesday, October 11, 2017
6:30 – 8:00 pm
Auditorium, 4th Floor, Main Library
5 Washington Street, Newark
In light of the decision by the President and his administration in regards to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), this seminar will focus on:
- How the beneficiaries of this program are affected
- What to do if your DACA coverage is about to expire
- What steps are not recommended for those whom are covered by DACA, and those whom would have been covered but did not apply by the deadline.
Moreover, this seminar will instruct undocumented members of the community on their rights if they are stopped by a police officer or an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent.
This seminar is part of the series Do You Know Your Rights? For more information about the series, click here.
The phrase “knowledge is power” is certainly true when it comes to defending your rights. Learn to protect yourself and your family. The Rutgers Law School has partnered with the Newark Public Library to offer a series of free legal information sessions for the community during the months of October and November.
