Thursday, October 19, 2017
6:30 – 8:00 pm
Auditorium, 4th Floor, Main Library

Sometimes parents and students feel that their schools have placed unjust punishments for alleged violations of the School’s Code of Conduct. What options do you have as a parent or student to ensure that students receive fair treatment? Learn your rights as a student faced with school disciplinary punishments. This presentation will address due process rights, which public schools are required to afford to all students.

This seminar is part of the series Do You Know Your Rights?  For more information about the series, click here.

The phrase “knowledge is power” is certainly true when it comes to defending your rights.  Learn to protect yourself and your family.  The Rutgers Law School has partnered with the Newark Public Library to offer a series of free legal information sessions for the community during the months of October and November.
