Bilingual Preschool Math and Science Story Time @ Van Buren Branch Library

This is a Spanish-English bilingual math and science-themed story time series that presents stories and activities designed to introduce important science and math concepts to 3- to 5-year-olds.

Es una serie de historias bilingües de inglés y español que presenta historias y actividades diseñadas para introducir conceptos importantes de ciencia y matemáticas a niños de 3 a 5 años.


This program was developed by the National Institute for Early Education Research at Rutgers University, to bring high quality STEM (science, technology, mathematics, and engineering) activities to a broader audience outside of school, especially for children and families who speak Spanish.  Stories, songs, and activities are linked to the New Jersey Department of Education Preschool Teaching and Learning Standards, introducing math concepts such as counting, measuring, and patterns, and science concepts such as the senses, planting and growing, and form and function.

This program is funded by the New Jersey State Library and the National Institute for Early Education Research (NIEER) at Rutgers University.
